Terry Miller Terry started playing music in elementary school where he learned to play the trumpet. He played music throughout junior and senior high schools. In his high school years he played in Grossmont Highs marching band and went on to earn a scholarship to Berklee School of Music in Boston. Throughout the years Terry has learned to play piano, harmonica, and acoustic guitar, however, his true love is to play his electric Fender or Carvin guitars, which he has been playing since 1964. Terry got his musical career off and running when he teamed up with his duo partner Rob Kennard in 1980. Together the two formed the country duo Kennard & Miller. Terry and Rob formed the five peice band The Honkytonk Kings in 1998. The band played together for over three years before Rob took a break from the music. Terry continued to play with the five peice until mid 2002 when duo partner Rob Kennard approached with the duo act again. Since then the famous duo have been playing throughout San Diego for a variety of gigs. Terry is most musically influenced by the Beatles, Chicago, Steve Wariner, Marty Stewart and Steve Earle.
